My Night With Reg

Wednesday 3rd September 2014

Last week the Tongues were very fortunate to watch JONATHAN BROADBENT and JULIAN OVENDEN act their hearts out in the bittersweet comedy My Night with Reg.

This is the 20th anniversary of this classic play written by the late Kevin Elyot and directed by rising star Robert Hastie. Set in 1985 just before the Aids epidemic this play defined a moment in the lives of gay men and became an instant classic. In the first scene Guy is throwing a housewarming party for a small group of friends and from this point onwards the audience becomes immersed in their world.

We were gripped for just under two hours as we witnessed these men’s lives unravel in front of us. Tears and laughter are often the most powerful method to enthrall your audience and this is certainly the case with My Night With Reg. Try and get a ticket to this play and lose yourself in the world of five men whose lives change dramatically in front of your own eyes.

My Night With Reg is playing at Donmar Warehouse
